Suicide Prevention Awareness
The VA is partnered with the National Suicide Prevention Hotline to reach veterans at risk for suicide. The toll-free suicide hotline is 1-800-273-TALK (8255). If you indicate you are a veteran, they’ll connect you to VA suicide prevention and mental health professionals. You can also contact your local VA Medical Center or Vet Center.

Federal Recovery Coordinator Program
If you need help navigating the Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs systems, you may be eligible for a Federal Recovery Coordinator. Augusta has three of the first Federal Recovery Coordinators hired to help Wounded Warriors and their families. To contact the Federal Recovery Coordinator Program call 1-877-732-4456. Marriage Enrichment Workshops
The CSRA Wounded Warrior Care Project has established collaborations with both the Army and the Charlie Norwood VAMC Chaplains and is delivering marriage enrichment workshops for returning service members, veterans, and their spouses. Augusta's Eisenhower Army Medical Center is the number two recipient of medical evacuees from Iraq and Afghanistan, second only to Walter Reed in Washington (source: PCCWW report, July 2007, page 23). Eisenhower AMC consistently ranks in the top three military treatment facilities as a recipient of medical evacuees from the Global War on Terror.
Augusta's Eisenhower Army Medical Center located on Fort Gordon is also home to the Army's Southeast Regional Medical Command.
Augusta's Medical College of Georgia has residents who do rounds at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and the The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
